Ghost Hunters of Reddit, What is the scariest thing you have ever seen that no one would believe?(Serious)

I'm not a ghost hunter but I have a story about a paranormal experience I could share, and it's 100% serious.

When I was a child I vaguely recall one evening, at no particular point in my childhood, that my family was all gathered around the television in the living room watching football. A very bright flood light came in at one angle through the sliding glass doors that lead outside from the living room, and the light shifted very quickly as if whoever was shining the light moved very quickly from one end of the door to the other, and was now shining it through the door at a different angle.

I don't remember a lot of details about this other than feeling strangely calm and relaxed, although my mother was clearly panicking. She grabbed a hold of me and a couple of my siblings and shouted at my father "they're here!" before she began quickly pulling us through the house and toward the basement. About halfway down the basement stairs is when this memory ends, and I cannot recall what happened afterwards.

A few years ago my parents were hosting a barbecue for independence day, and I was sitting around a fire pit in the back yard with 3 or 4 of my older brothers drinking beer, smoking cigarettes, and telling stories. We were talking about all the strange experiences we had in the house we grew up in, and one of my siblings talked about this evening we were watching football when a strange ball of light appeared in the back yard and swept toward the house. He was telling the story as if he thought it was just a weird dream he had, but strangely enough we all recalled the experience nearly the same way, with our memories of the event ending at different points in the time line. For instance, my oldest brother only recalled everything leading up to my mother shouting "they're here", while the youngest remembers sitting in the basement in complete darkness with my mother and feeling terrified.

We haven't really been able to come up with any logical explanation for any of this, because nobody remembers when it happened and everyone seems to have blacked out at some point and supposedly woken up the next morning as if nothing happened the evening prior.
