Ghostbusters hate isn't due to misogyny

social justice bullshit and are pandering to that demographic.

I'm gonna say this movie is pandering to anti-SJW reactionists, not just SJWs because SJWs are actually not that numerous. If they were, other movies pandered towards them like that Annie reboot with a black protagonist would have been successful. Have you even heard of it?

There is nothing really new about SJWs themselves. For example, the peaceful protest where Martin Luther King Jr. held his famous "I have a dream" speech was organized with what are now known as SJWs in mind, all the preparations they went through showed they were concerned for the extremists. The term itself is new, but historically they have always existed and their extremism was always seen as a problem that could compromise everything because that's exactly the type of people media loves. Painting an entire movement by their extremists is the perfect way to push an agenda. Nothing new with SJW demographic.

What is new is that the Internet has made these people seem more numerous than they actually are, and more and more people are reacting against them to the point of dismissing genuine social issues as just SJW talk. That is concerning. That is a growing concern. But for businesses, that's a good thing. They don't care how they get attention, they care about getting attention. They are milking this outrage culture we have right now. They know well that hate generates more discussion and more free publicity.

If people didn't stop talking about the things they hate, Twilight, Rebbeca Black's Friday or 50 Shades of Grey would have never become popular. Ghostbusters would have still been disappointing for the fans if they would have been rebooted with a male cast, but it would have not been talked nearly as much if it wasn't for anti-SJW reactionaries. The trailer is too months old and I still see people talk about it, like right now.

Whether all this negative publicity pay off in the end or not, we'll have to see. People are comparing it with the Fantastic 4 movie, but that one wasn't talked this much everywhere, it was mostly limited to nerd circles. We really just have to see.
