While this topic is still up, let the circle jerk continue... some of the ongoing numbers are fairly interesting. Defenders of Feig's Ghostbusters clutched for straws at the beginning, trying to say stuff like how it was the biggest opening for a comedy since Pitch Perfect 2, nonsense like that, but will be annoyed at comparisons now that show how badly this mess has stumbled, even though the comparisons are more apt.

Ghostbusters has fallen faster and more disastrously than Pixels, which everybody agreed was crap.

By its sixth weekend, Pixels was still playing in over 1000 theaters, and made over $2 million.

By its sixth weekend, Ghostbusters has already dropped to nearly 400 theaters, and only took in $770K. It's underwater.

Pixels went on to continue grossing millions in the 7th and 8th weekends, and wouldn't drop as far as Ghostbusters has already until its 11th weekend. Or in other words, Ghostbusters bombed almost twice as fast as Pixels. The only thing Ghostbusters can boast over Pixels is a bigger opening, and that's about it. That only makes the drop that much steeper.
