In our language when we want to congratulate someone new year, Christmas or birthday, we usually say something like “congratulations! I wish you will be able to celebrate this holiday many many times”, well it’s way shorter to say but idea is the same… so, there’s only one celebration when you really don’t want to say this… you simply don’t tell someone who just get married that you hope you can congratulate them marrying to someone many many times…

Unless you are me and calling your relative who just got married and telling this exact thing instinctively and when you realized what you said it’s already late and there’s an awkward silence on the phone.

I still cringe at myself every time I remember this and remember it few times per week even after 12 years…
