Girl arrested after dog dies from being left in hot car outside Falls Church PetSmart - Story

A child is different whether or not people want to admit it. I also wouldn't let my own kid stick his/her head out the window while driving like a dog. yet that is commonly done and acceptable by majority of society. i wouldn't let my child sleep outside like many dogs do comfortably in ok weather. i wouldn't let me child sleep in a kennel. i wouldn't neuter/spay my child so they can't ever breed. I am tired of people comparing pets to kids as if they are the exact same. its acceptable to leave a puppy/dog unattended at home while everyone is at work/school, but I would not do that with a child. am i suppose to pay for a dog sitter every day because I need to treat it like a child and assume it can't be unattended at home for 8 hours, let alone for 5 min in a running car with AC?

you also can bring a child into most restaurants and stores so you would have no reason to leave a child in the car unless you're a horrible parent and at the casino or bar or something where kids aren't allowed.

i can understand there is a chance that the air conditioning could break, or the car could die for whatever rare reason while running. but at a certain point it gets ridiculous when people start hypothesizing all these possible unlikely scenarios where something could go wrong.
