I've been taking the pill for 6 years. 4 years with the combined pill and 2 on the progesterone only. You do have to take it everyday but I don't trust my doctor's to have appointments every 3 months for the injection and the idea of a coil freaks me out so much. I don't have periods on the progesterone pill which has been so good as I get the most horrendous cramps. I have the progesterone only pill because of my family history and there is less issues over weight with it. Honestly I would go to your doctor or read up online first and look at all the options, go with an open mind and talk to your doctor ( I always ask for a female doctor as it makes me more comfortable ) they will be able to answer all of your questions and suggest what would be best for you
