That's just a nice thing to do for them as well. I have a pretty long stride and I almost never notice people trailing me because I walk so naturally fast. It's the worst when I'm stuck behind someone and can't change my direction for whatever reason. If I keep walking, I have to worry about making this person, male or female, uncomfortable as it feels like I "stalk" up behind them before overtaking them. So I'll usually just walk really slow so they can get some distance ahead of me and I can wait to find a different route.

A few weeks ago I was out for a walk and saw a nice looking girl walking towards me. I smiled and walked past her like a normal person, but on this walk I always walk to a certain spot, and then turn around and go back. So...in minutes I was behind that girl again on my return back to my house.

I ended up taking a completely different route back home because I felt like I made her really uncomfortable by making that switch-a-roo shortly after walking past her.
