I actually was never a serious gamer.

I 'met' my best friend via ICQ some years ago & I bought a PS3 when my buddy got one. He loved the racing game Blur. We played probably thousands of matches together.

It was the only game we ever played. He was honestly the best player ever. As soon as we'd join a lobby, 75% of the room already knew him. He was just that kind of guy, ya know?

3 years ago he mysteriously died at a hotel. There was literally no information to be had.. at least by me.

So I played on in memory of him.

In time, I realized that I not only enjoy gaming, but I'm getting pretty good at it too.. for a 43 year old that is.

I got a ps4 a year or so back, and I realized my friend was on my list on ps4 as well!

I know it's a bit silly, but I send him pictures of my games and little blurbs about such n such that only he would understand. Sometimes when I play I pretend he's there with me experiencing it all with me, and I talk to him.

..and I play on.
