[Giveaway][Steam] The Elder Scrolls V - Skyrim

Welp, that is just my luck. Knowing about a sale a day after it ended. I would like to throw my hat into the ring for a shot at Skyrim as well. The reason why I have not purchased Skyrim is due to the fact that I have a limited budget; thus, I usually wait for a sale. Unfortunately, I usually end up missing the sale due to one reason or another (primarily, me shutting off internet to study for exams for a day or two). As a huge fan of Fallout New Vegas, I will tell you why I wish to play Skyrim. I would like to play Skyrim for three primary reasons: I love the open world nature of the game, I like the modding support, and I like the settings.

The open world nature of Skyrim is its best feature. I am a huge fan of open world games from Bethesda, especially the Fallout series. I’ve never been able to play Skyrim fully. I’ve only been able to play little bits of it at my friend’s house on his PS3 while I am visiting him. However, I have seen a lot of video footages on the internet about Skyrim and I have played hundreds of hours in Fallout New Vegas. The freedom to go wherever you want and to do whatever you want is very intoxicating to me. The in-game world becomes as realistic as I make it. In Skyrim, I can choose who I want to be whether it is a shining hero on a white horse or a murderous bandit pillaging communities. It is up to me to decide my fate as well as the fate of the world. This game is a sandbox for whatever fantasy, the player wishes to imbue it with.

The second feature of Skyrim that interests me is its strong support for modding. In Fallout New Vegas, I absolutely enjoy using mods to fix bugs, improve the textures, or change up the gameplay. I love modding in New Vegas so much that I took it upon myself to learn how to utilize the G.E.C.K. and FNVEdit tools to create my own mods to fix bugs for New Vegas. Some people like to spend their free time to find relaxation and tranquility by cleaning their house, while I like to find bugs in New Vegas and solve them like a puzzle to improve my game. I’ve also released a few of my private fixes on the New Vegas Nexus under the name Mr01. I also contribute back to the Fallout community by submitting numerous private fixes to the unofficial community patch called YUP (I’m credited in the patch’s readme as Mr01 and Lopham). I’ve never had a chance to play Skyrim on PC before and I would love the opportunity to finally be able to experience the full modding community of Skyrim as well as learning how to use Skyrim’s Creation Engine toolkit to make my own mods and bug fixes to improve the game.

Lastly, I like the diverse setting of Skyrim. The post-apocalyptic environment of Fallout is nice and harsh, but it is not as beautiful as Skyrim’s. Skyrim has beautiful mountains, forests, artic zones, and even grassy plains. Complementing Skyrim’s environment is its medieval settings with magic, swordsmanship, and good old fashion chivalry. I’ve played a lot of games where it is mainly “shoot-this-guy-in-the-face” and I want to experience something else like Skyrim’s medieval style swordsman ship and horse riding. I would love to be able to wander through the forests, see the sights, and explore the old Nordic ruins of Skyrim. New Vegas’ map pales in comparison to the sheer size and variety of Skyrim’s.

To Summarize, I would love to be able to play Skyrim because of its open world nature, its modding capability, and its medieval theme. Thank you very much to you, OP, for hosting this generous giveaway. You are awesome and I hope Lady Luck comes your way and give you a kiss of good luck, because she has always slapped me across my face...sigh.
