Giving directions to a stranger, then afterwards questioning how easy they were to follow, then worrying they won't get there.

When I am on the tube and see anyone looking mildy confused or lost, I feel it is my duty to ask if they need help. Did this the other day, and it was a family wanting to go to the London Eye. I wanted to direct them to Embankment, so they could just pop across the river, but I couldn't remember the name "Embankment" (a station I had disembarked at so many times), and there were no maps nearby, so they stood waiting patiently while I combed my brain for the station name. They can't have been confident in my directions.

Above ground, I am no help to you at all. I can't give directions beyond two blocks from my house, and I get lost all the time. Most greatful to a girl who helped me out in Bristol the other night when I walked around lost for an hour trying to find Hamilton House. Only the second time I'd been to Bristol and the first time on my own. She admitted that she didn't know exactly where it was, but said she would walk with me until we found it. We found it a few minutes later. :)
