Giving Up On A Career In FP&A

Honestly your resume is trash I’m sorry I can’t be anymore politically correct. You mention all this mumbo jumbo computer science shit but lose the point that data analytics is to support your job. Fp&a is about supporting and driving corporate financial decisions. So unless you can communicate your finding no amount of computer science prowess is going to help you (obv different if you’re going into a analytics focused role but that’s not the topic at hand here). Furthermore people aren’t stupid you said you used data analysis to get a 20k PPP Loan like seriously? PPP supports salaries for 2.5 months so that probably means this PPP is for what 1 person? 1.5? That’s just embarrassing that you need to use “data analysis” for that. HR scans through hundreds of resumes a day and they can smell your BS better than you can smell it yourself. You should be honest but not exaggerate your role. And when you go on the interview be truthful about you’ve done and what you hope to accomplish and not flex all your technical prowess. Nobody wants to hire “that guy”
