Giving up veganism

Gary Yourofsky has said hunting is not justified, because nature should be allowed to go through its own course and human life is inferior to other species'

By that logic nature is taking its course with human hunting, as we're another animal.

I think that's my biggest issue, I don't kill animals, eat animals, and try to avoid animal products as best I can. I don't, however, hate humans or think they are inferior to other animals. I think that's the biggest issue, is that I don't have enough narcissistic self-loathing to think I'm worth less than a squirrel. Nor do I think other humans are either.

There is a point or rationality that is necessary. Nuances and gray areas exist and there's good intentions, and then there are stupid statements. It's easy to say humans are inferior to animals, when there's no other species that can agree with you. But when some beast starts attacking you do you just sit there and let it eat you because you're inferior or do you fight to preserve your life? Its easy to say what you'd do when there's no danger of your life being on the line.

If I sat there and ate a boiled egg for example, which I don't do, but if I did I highly doubt I'm so influential that others will see it and think its acceptable, as I said, I'm not narcissistic to think the world revolves around me and my ideologies and I'm that influential.

Think globally and act locally is my mindset. I, personally, try not to do things I disagree with, and globally I support rational measures, such as the ivory trade being banned or not killing animals just for trophies or a single part of them to support some fantasy belief that it'll make you more virile in bed.
