A "glad this sub exists" rant

I partially agree.

So, taxes are a huge issue which can be optimized and there should be discussions about how to optimize them. I am in U.S.A. so I do not know what tax advice is relevant elsewhere. However, I would be very surprised if there is no optimization to do in terms of types of accounts (I know some countries have retirement accounts) or things to do to help lower taxes legally elsewhere.

The other dissent is you saying that "half the audience" does not know about the things. I may be wrong, however I am very much under the impression that heavy majority of reddit users are in U.S.A. I could be wrong, however there have been surveys done in /fi which I thought included nationality and U.S.A. was heavy majority of users who responded.

The above being said, those discussions have already been had and the question should almost always end with a few links being provided instead of full-blown discussions. I agree that there should not be long drawn out debates about U.S.A. retirement accounts because the net result is almost never anything better than "go read these 4-5 links", yet there is way more text involved...
