Global Core

Rise of Civilization

Africa and the Anthropologist

Ancient History of Egypt

Salsa, Soca, and Reggae: Popular Musics of the Caribbean

also: If you are not a humanities wizard I would recommend only taking global cores which are large lectures rather than seminars. If you take a global core seminar then there will be a lot of people more well versed in the subject matter than you are and it will make it difficult to perform well in the class. Additionally, you would be expected to genuinely complete the reading which is quite impossible combined with any sort of science courseload.

definitely consider Global Urbanism but I hear that Saskia is very egotistical and a large percentage of your grade is determined by one paper (which is graded by the TA who is probably an overstressed grad student who has no idea what they are doing).

the classes that I referenced are found on the Global Core Bulletin

However since you are in SEAS, I would like to add that I much prefer Contemporary Civilizations over both Lit Hum and my global core. So perhaps consider it. Lit Hum is also great especially if you can switch into a class on Hamilton 3 when room numbers come out in August, because through a very scientific procedure, I have concluded that the majority of Lit Hum and CC sections on Hamilton 3 are taught by amazing professors because its convenient to access (room numbers are posted before instructors). If your Lit Hum or CC section is in a random building like Knox, pupin or inside a residence hall, then based on my experience observing that good professors generally teach Lit Hum/CC on the third floor of Hamilton.
