Goblining back in the day?

Being a goblin in vanilla for me was a blast, and much, much easier to get rich. Most people didn't use addons period, so even fewer had the auctioneer addon. So having the addon myself gave an unbelievable advantage.

The name of the game was cornering markets back then. On the server illidan, I controlled the market for cloth and leather horde side. That's it, the only two item types i traded.

I would constantly buy out all undercutters and ignore those pricing higher. I'd post in all stacks of one. And nobody else could keep up doing it manually.

On the server the different goblins would get to know each other and we had a mutual agreement that we wouldn't move in on each others markets.

So as you could imagine controlling all the cloth and leather on the server was extremely lucrative for me. I would raise the price between 5-10% every week or two, and nobody could do a thing about it because I could instantly buyout undercutters and repost at my price.

Those were the good times. I was so rich that gold had long become completely unnecessary for me, but I enjoyed the process so much I never stopped.

Now before you get mad at me for gold hoarding, I regularly ran various giveaway contests where i gave out thousands of gold to hundreds and hundreds of people. Those little contests I ran were possibly the funnest times I've ever had in a game :D
