What would it take for you to stop believing? That's the ultimate question. Many theists would answer :

"Nothing".

This is a frightening idea, if you stop to think about it.

Christianity is part of the Abrahamic trio, that means Judaism, Christianity and Islam (in that order) originate from the same source. Christianity around 100 AD. Islam started around 630 AD.

The reason Islamists commit acts of mass murder is precisely because of the sheer power of their faith. Their virgins in paradise sounds ridiculous to you, but that is what heaven is to most people. It is a place of infinite pleasure as a reward for your FAITH.

Islamists happen to demonstrate their faith by defending it against slander. This defense may take the ultimate form, which is to sacrifice oneself in order to destroy the blasphemous enemy of God.

It all boils down to : Is your FAITH strong enough that you would kill me for disproving your god.

Islam is not very different from Christianity. You happened to be Christian because of the accidental geographic location of your birth.

If you were born in the middle East, you would most likely find Islam to be the one and only truth, and Judaism and Christianity to be ridiculous.
