God is good

The argument he’s making is actually perfectly valid if one believes in an omnipotent and omniscient god and objective morality. God knows morality perfectly (omniscience of objective morality) and has the power to follow that morality (omnipotence). Humans have not been able to find objective morality so our best understanding of it comes from god. Many Christians come up with counterarguments like god ordained us with moral reasoning which we should trust as absolute (which is questionable given how clearly inconsistent our moral intuitions can be). Honestly the counterarguments are all religious and fallacious. This guy is doomed to have his reasoning about morality lead to moral failure until he no longer believes in god. He can still forget his moral reasoning and make intuitive moral decisions that are good or rationalize gods actions in a way that makes them seem less reprehensible but that’s just making his belief easier to hold. What can be done when a Theist places god as more important than reason and morality? Sadly not much.
