God solves your scientific paradox. As He has always existed, and has no cause. It has been in front of your eyes this entire time.

I suppose it was Aristotle, originally. The determination is based off of the structure of certain formal philosophical arguments (at least for when the basic rendering of scripture doesn’t seem good enough for someone). To understand why these conclusions are reached, you’d have to understand the utilized premises & what’s done logically with those premises.

A very substantial and exhaustive book (it’s academic but approachable) that outlines & embellishes upon these types of arguments is ‘Five Proofs for the Existence of God’ by Edward Feser. If you read just that one book, I am not kidding when I say you’ll likely already have a better understanding of this topic than 90% of the population.
