I've often thought that, if God is real, his omnipotence is a matter of perspective and that he can do anything but not necessarily how he would want to do it. If you were to somehow ask an ant if any given person was omnipotent, an ant would probably say yes. However, if that any then asked that random human to kill another ant in the colony, that human would probably kill a lot of other ants and/or destroy the structure in the process. Thinking of God as not omnipotent in the traditional sense but rather as a being that can do anything we could ask of him but not as we would want him to do so makes the whole thing seem far more plausible to me.
