With that kind of argument, cops shouldn't be around at all. They're there to enforce the law but if the suspect hasn't been to court yet we can't say a law has been broken, can we?

Also, I didn't say the cop tackling him to the ground was punishment. I said if you break the law, you are going to be punished. As in, in some way, you will be punished. By a court and sometimes by police.

I'm not saying in anyway that it would be okay for a cop to just start punching someone for no reason. Not at all. But being tackled to get you off a motorcycle after endangering a lot of people seems like an okay punishment to me.
