The US is the best damn country on the planet. It got that way by having a superior culture that allowed it to thrive. When you have a lot of immigration at once, you risk the immigrants not assimilating. More so when it's from cultures very different from the US.

The way I see it, the US is in a buyer's market. It can choose to have the best and brightest if they want and they should. Bring in those who not only want to be American (and not just citizens), but also have a lot to offer.
