Going backwards here- what am I doing wrong?

7 weeks is peak fussy for newborns! It’s awful, lasts a week or two, but it will pass. Great advice in other comments here, just wanted to add that sleep is a long and definitively not linear thing. Unless you are exceedingly lucky and get a total unicorn baby, you’re going to loop through cycles of good, bad, and torture-level sleep over and over until they’re three or so. It’s all a phase, it will pass, but it may pass like a kidney stone. They have so much growing and developmental stuff to do, just do what you need to get through it and when you just can’t live with your routine anymore, it’s ok to change it/train/gentle train, whatever.
