Going homeless (advice?)

I’m actually very perplexed at your line of thinking.

Your earnings per month are more than typical graduate students studying for a Masters or PhD. When I was a Masters student 10 years ago, my take home was half of your take home per month and I had no problem. Yes, you are paying too much for housing...and you are taking steps to remedy that.

Landlords always like the fact I told them I was studying for a Master’s. Why can’t you say you have one? And being a teacher is very respectable...why not make that known to potential landlords.

I fail to see how even living in the least aesthetically pleasing and having spartan living conditions in a shared accommodation is worse off than living on the street. There is something off with your reasoning if you don’t agree with the last sentence. Or perhaps you are leaving something out with regards to finding shared accommodations?
