Was Goldberg vs Lesnar the best sub-5 minute match in WWE's history?

I seriously didn't know who was going to win. Yeah, in retrospect it's obvious that the 39-year-old guy who's under contract is going to beat the 50-year-old special attraction, but that's what I thought at Survivor Series too.

Goldberg (the guy, not the character) knew he couldn't give us much more than 5 minutes. Hell, he rarely wrestled past 5 minutes when he was in his prime. Might as well make the most of it.

Not only was this match great in the moment, look at the aftermath:

  • Now. no one remembers the crapfest that was their first WrestleMania match.

  • The biggest badass in the company has a primary belt, which makes sense. Especially given that he was never pinned in the match where he lost the previous primary belt.

  • Someone kicked out of the most unbeatable superstar in wrestling history's finisher for the first time ever

  • That most unbeatable superstar in wrestling history lost clean for the first time ever. I can't believe this isn't a bigger deal.

  • Goldberg goes out on his back, assuming this is his last match. And he looked strong. (Unlike The Undertaker, who looked ready to retire.)

  • Speaking of which, this match would have made a perfect main event. The only reason it didn't was, of course, it had to be overshadowed by the Deadman's last ride.
