False. MAC never claimed it was a hoax. One employee at FEG made a list and never followed up on it. FEG is making a public statement about this today or tomorrow. The $5K mark is because that leaves only $1000 per gun split between FEG, Copper, and the importer, with majority profit going to FEG. The importer had to pay $4K per rifle on the import, so $400K total out of pocket. As for dudes at the AK Forum being in on the deal, the public statement from FEG will tell us everything. This deal was no different than the IWI 5.45 Galil ACE deal as far as I'm aware, except no middle man (importer) involved as IWI did everything, Copper sold the guns.
