I could give you a long answer or short answer. To save time, I'll give you the short one! To preface this, my ex would say mean things about my character and family which would bring me down. I had no self-esteem and attachment issues because of that. So, Journal everynight, study up on a religion/passion that brings you happiness, maintaining no contact, therapy, and exercise.

Like I said, maintaining no contact is important! I also made this account to help people out. I like hearing people's experiences and telling them mine. It helps me feel not so alone. I'm better now, but I stick around this sub to just hear people out. I hope you find happiness.

I also know my ex doesn't have the power to define who I am, I took it away from him. When he said mean things about me, I took it around and turned it into love.
