Google Fires Employee Behind Controversial Diversity Memo

Producing a class that is all about attacking the attendees

Not sure where you're getting the idea that attendees are being attacked. I'm a straight white cisgender male engineer - I'm the 'in'-est of the ingroups at google, and I wasn't attacked or mocked or disregarded in any way. When I had input, I could raise my hand and talk and give my input just like anyone else

on invisible and perceived slights and telling them they must be constantly vigilant at all times or the invisible ghosts will get them is the exact opposite of a healthy environment.

This is not what it's like at all. Being tactful does not mean living under the constant threat of the thought police and practicing constant self censorship. It just means being aware of how your actions may affect those around you to say in much the same way you're aware of your surrounding when you go for a hike. Having a small filter to run things though before you say the first thing that pops into your head at all times is not a bad thing.
