Google Maps really needs a "calm the fuck down I'm just getting gas" feature.

Waze isnt meant to used for search, its meant to be used for navigation. I agree that if you dont have the address, its sometimes a bit of a pain, but then again, how after are you going to know where you need to go, but not have the address, or at least the nearest intersection?

If I know the nearest intersection why would I need directions? I want to search "Starbucks Mesa AZ" for example. In Google, it pulls them up and I pick one and go to it.

Also, waze and google work off the same traffic data (Google owns waze) so their directions will always be the same.

I can say unequivocally that this is not true, at least not for Phoenix.

The difference is that the actual APP is way better. Like, google maps was never MEANT to be a navigation tool. It was originally made to be used on a desktop PC, and then when smart phones became a thing, google basically HAD to port it to mobile. It didnt translate well from one platform to the other.

I totally agree with that.

Waze also has a lot more features than google maps. For instance, Waze tells you the speed limit for the road your on (which is useful if youre not familiar with that road) as well as your current speed.

Isn't that data user generated? I often see roads which do not have speed limits set or incorrect limits.

The rest are all great points. But for me, from an ease of use perspective, Google still wins out. It's a terrible, bloated, shitty app but it still works better than Waze. Waze does somethings better but Google still seems to be easier to use.
