The Google Pixel XL Review: Life After Nexus

  1. Even on a black phone this is noticeable. the screen is there, your hand still have to go there, etc. Very noticeable. It's not about what you see, it's about what you feel and how you have to handle the phone as a result of it. That huge bottom bezel has literally no purpose. iPhone shave Home Button/Touch ID. Other Android phones may have Capacity Buttons. It exists for no reason on this phone, except symmetry. Why not just make the phone less tall and shrink the bezels as a result of that?

  2. Brighter country? WTF does this even mean? Do you think other phones are going up to 500+ nits simply because they can? This exists for a reason. 400 nit screens are a 2014 spec. A flagship deserves better hardware than this.

This phone sounds better when compared to mediocre Nexus devices. Compared to other devices in its price class, it itself becomes a rather mediocre offering.

Maybe you should have used a better variety of phones. Comparing a phone favorably to a mediocre phone doesn't make it an exceptional phone. It just makes it better than that mediocre phone you compared it to.
