Sorry, I think you've confused my meaning. I never said Saudi Arabia is primitive. I'm well-familiar with their legal traditions and history and even their crime rates, so I'm quite aware that they are a modern and wealthy nations. I was referencing something that was said about medicines.

My point is that, if the people there want change, they should make it, not those of other countries. It is not our duty or our right. It is not our duty to intervene on behalf of their women, because we are not their saviors. As I said to someone else, black people in the U.S. won their freedoms and rights by fighting for them, not because the British or Canadians came to their rescue. We must let people make their own destinies, not try to bend them to our ideals.
