Google's head of mental health and wellbeing was among the 12,000 workers laid off by the tech giant

don’t think i’m not looking for another job, and i’m not aiming to work for a big tech company. I’m in a semi-niche field unfortunately, and competing with everyone else in my same boat or worse. but my mortgage is mine alone and my divorce a few years ago screwed me pretty hard financially, so i’m not exactly able to just easily handle getting fired. i’ve got resumes out everywhere but it would hurt me pretty bad to lose my job without a severance, which for me would be sizable, but they’re going after the cheaper to fire ones right now.

i do complain though. a whole fucking lot. i’m at least very vocal about how i feel about all of this. At least i have a budding consulting business that i do in my free time.
