GOP lawmaker: Gay people “don’t have a right to be served in every single store”

Anything carried out against them is not bigotry since religion is a fucking choice.

OK. Firstly, this is often just not true. Take Indonesia for example; there are exactly 5 state-recognised religious beliefs, but Islam is by a LONG way the biggest. Many families will entirely stop talking to you if you are not muslim like them, considering you "dead".

But, also, discrimination is discrimination, regardless of what you are discriminating against. You can change skin colour medically, does that make it right to discriminate against black people? No, of course it doesn't. Just because you can change something, that doesn't mean you get to treat them like a second class citizen because of it.

Ignoring that, Islamophobia/Christophobia are as real as misandry anyway...

Misandry is as real as misogyny. When you treat a person as a lesser being for being female, this is called misogyny. When you treat a person as a lesser being for being male, this is called misandry. When you hate males, when you treat males and masculine people as inherently bad people, when you assume that they are "valid" discrimination targets regardless of any reasons, this is misandry.

Women have been oppressed and treated as lesser for thousands of years. This is factually true. However, does this then mean that women get to do the same to men, because of some kind of justice? No, of course it doesn't!

That would be like the police saying "well, black people have a higher rate of convictions for theft than white people, so from now on we're only going to investigate 13% of theft cases reported by black people". All you're doing there is punishing people who did nothing wrong, simply because of their race.

Islamophobia/Christophobia

Basically, these terms just mean "specific xenophobia". Given that we can literally see the increasing resentment towards specific religious groups, culminating in executions/lynchings on both sides, I think it's fair to say that these definitely exist.
