I got a cat. Now my boyfriend adores the cat. Didn't realize she would be a trigger. Ways to cope?

Ummmmmm. The above comment is bullshit. I've had all three of my current cats spayed, two other female cats in the past as well. They all trust me, only one was scared afterwards and she would try hiding by climbing onto me. Sorry about the placement of this comment, but really please get your cat spayed, especially if you let her outside

Besides that, my cats make some weird noises, including snoring, spitting while cleaning, and smack-chewing. Basically if it annoys you, try to leave the situation, I know how hard it gets sometimes. Show her she's not allowed on the couch or bed and give her a cat tree or cat bed to cuddle into. This way, if she does make noise it's farther away (you will need your boyfriend to support you 100% on this or the kitter will get confused)

You may want to look into if your cat is stressed, my one cat would lick herself so much she became bald on her belly and tail. Cats do clean a lot, especially after going to the bathroom but I've noticed mine tend to stop after 5-10 minute stretches. So if you can power through that, you're good to go
