Got the game last night on sale. 8hrs later, here's my first Victory(?)!

Some of that is true.

While you should definitely be aware of the size of your deck and how it functions as it grows, not every character necessarily needs a small deck. Ironclad generally does do fine with fewer cards, but 21 isn't too large by any means. It depends what those cards are, though. There's pros and cons to all deck sizes.

I wouldn't say be 'suspicious' about 2/3 cost cards. They're some of the best in the game. Better to spend 2 energy on one very good card than on two average one energy cards a lot of the time. Ironclad loves his heavy hitters.

Powers are indeed very good, but they can also hurt you more than help. Take Demon Form like your example. In a perfect scenario, you draw it first round, the enemy is defending so you don't have to worry about block, you can use it immediately and start benefiting from it right away.

In a more realistic scenario, you don't draw it first turn, then when you do sooner or later it's quite likely that the energy cost is no longer worth the benefit. Making it a dead draw. So basically, evaluate your deck and relics for any synergies before committing to a power by default.

Also tip: try to get rid of your Strikes through shops and events. They weaken your deck overall.
