I got a job as a sales auditor for a major wholesale

Do you have an accounting background?

Are you performing audits and issuing an audit report? Or sort of reviewing a checklist and marking the boxes if everything lines up?

Some places blur the line between quality control, compliance, and internal audit. Staying in this role might prepare you better for risk management or compliance if you're acting in a casual oversight capacity. If your IT degree is from 2013 and you haven't maintained it, it would be a lot harder to cross over since your skills or knowledge might not be current.

It's always hard in a new job though because you have to learn all new systems, processes, and people. If you feel like you're in over your head though, you'll have to ask for more training or do your own personal research. Read through operational manuals or desktop procedures.
