I got my first house as the pandemic started and renovated bathroom and it's leaky shower.

"Professional" Painters are often the most arrogant of them all when it comes to basic science of paints. Of course, you should run a fan in your bathroom, but you can still get mildew and mold even with a fan and window open. People run long showers if it suits them. I have kept up with the business even though I haven't sold paint for around 4 years. Things have not changed that much since then. I have close contacts with those still formulating paint and working with consumers and businesses on their products.

Tell me, do you also advocate that one coat of paint is sufficient? Do you understand the difference between a ceiling flat, washable flat, and what is suitable for which room? Do you also skip primer because "iT's In ThE pAiNt NoW" ?

You may not get callbacks, but I used to get customers coming in all the time with frustrations from contractors using the wrong paint, with peeling, bubbling, obvious lack of cover, and it coming off with any sort of cleaning. Minimally. Having to troubleshoot their issues and find solutions while they take out their frustrations on me is absolutely a highlight.
