Got my first ticket today. Tell me about your ticket experiences!

It's going to be tough to remember all of these but here we go:

  • 4 days after getting my license, took a turn fast with squealing tires, proceeded to speed down the road I turned on to. Cop was behind me for the whole thing. Got a ticket for "spinning wheels" and speeding (10-15mph over I think). First ticket got dropped in court, second one was reduced to a fine with no points.

  • Speeding 15-20mph over in a 35mph zone.

  • Was drifting around a traffic circle on campus. Campus security saw it on CCTV. When I parked later several cops came and boxed me in my space. Officer I talked to obviously hadn't seen the footage himself. I just didn't say shit and ended up with a minor ticket for "negligent driving."

  • Late for a dentist appointment and doing about 120mph in the HOV lane without a passenger. Came up on an undercover cop and immediately slowed down and moved over. Ended up with just a ticket for driving in the HOV without a passenger since the cop had no reading on my speed although he did yell at me a bit and say, "I know you were doing triple digits!"

  • Driving in Tampa on vacation where the speed limit seems to change every freaking block and there are cops everywhere. Didn't actually think I was speeding that time but got a ticket for 10 over.

  • Slid around a 90 degree corner at an intersection. Got a ticket marked "other" with a pretty funny description that said something like, "driving in a manner with which to intentionally cause skidding." Drunk friend who was riding with me thought it was a good idea to start pointing a DSLR camera at the cops. They arrested him and charged him with assaulting a police officer.

All in all I've been pulled over at least 10 times and was let off with warnings on several occasions. The good news is that I haven't been pulled over at all in something like 5 years now, and haven't crashed a car in nearly 10, so amazingly after all that I actually have a completely clean driver's license now. I still exceed the speed limit by 20+mph basically every time I get on the highway, but I've learned to rein it in since I was younger, am better at looking out for cops, and longer take excessive risks like hitting my car's top speed (138mph) when other people are around, or doing things that put other people in danger like weaving through traffic.
