I got a new cat and I have trouble adjusting.

Know that you're not the only one! A couple of years ago (before I knew I was an Aspie), I adopted a kitten from the shelter. Within a couple of days I was completely overwhelmed, stressed, crying etc. I just couldn't handle her playful kitten behavior. Even though I did my utmost best to give her the best care and try to convince myself that I just needed some time to adjust, I knew I was in over my head. So (with a heavy heart) I brought her back to the shelter. It was the best decision for both parties and she found a lovely new home.

There is no shame in finding her a new home. We all know that once we set our minds to something we keep on trying to make it work, even though it might hurt us. We only give up once we've exhausted ourselves or all other options. Take your time to find an honest answer for yourself (maybe it will work with a sitter). Only you know the right decision for you.
