Got rear ended by a person with 5000 dollar property damage limit

I was just in the same situation. Crash happened October 5th, rented a car for about a month, then past the ~month started paying out of pocket. My coworker who was also in a similar situation (his crash was in the beginning of the year), said he paid out of pocket too but he got reimbursed months later after the whole ordeal while my claim was still going on. This was with Geico btw. He said they called him (again, months later) to let him know he is getting reimbursed.

My claim was not too long ago, so I'm hoping a few months down the line they (Geico in both if our situations) will reimburse me as well because it was also 100% the other guy's fault for rear ending me (btw both of our claims were total loss payments so they took longer than what could've been just a few days of repair).
