GOTHAM or BATWOMAN?

My two cents comes from my perspective and that of a few friends who watched both shows.

If you take Gotham as a separate from the Batman mythos, it's enjoyable. I'll admit, it took me 3 tries to get into it. They do a good job of keeping to most of the spirit of the mythos, but it's definitely a massive departure. Especially when they adapt No Man's Land. I quite liked who Alexander Siddig played, even if it was not the normal version of the character. And the Mr. Freeze is rather relatable, heartbreaking, and yet you still want him to be locked up forever.

Batwoman tries too hard to be the Arrow-verse answer for Batman after they decided that Oliver isn't Bruce Wayne (aka Arrow S1-S4 part 1). They kept adapting some Batman storylines for Batwoman at first, and while interesting, it could be kinda annoying at the same time if you know the comics. The big difference between Gotham's adaptation and Batwoman is Gotham has the major players, Batwoman doesn't, and it's forcing everything and everyone into one or two characters. Also, like most of the later seasons of Supergirl, it gets super preachy. Like, focus the entire B-plot of several episodes of one thing, and at times that B-plot overtakes the main plot of the episode.

Season 3 of Batwoman does "bring in" the Gotham mythos, after the combination of most of the shows into one universe or another.

For Gotham Knights... I'm reserving judgement for now.
