I agree with you.

However, if someone has a great round but chooses to focus on complaining about their missed opportunities for how it could have theoretically been even better, while they’re playing with people who wish they could have a good or just a mediocre round, it may come off as arrogant and possibly insensitive. This might be especially true if someone felt like they did have a good round and then the golfer who kicked their ass just complains, it can diminish that feeling of accomplishment for a good round. Even if the better golfer is having a poor round, that might still be better than the other person’s good round, and if that’s the case, maybe read the room and know your audience.
