Gov. Brown signs bill eliminating money bail in California

Wrong, asshole. In roughly 20 years of car ownership I've never missed one payment on any vehicle I've had a loan against. Regardless, one night about 10 years ago I woke up to find a tow truck backing up against my vehicle. When I approached them, the driver and his cronie drew a gun down on me. An argument ensued, I was told that unless I had receipts from every payment, they were taking the car. I pulled out my laptop and showed them 6 months worth of automatic debits (it was impossible for me to miss a payment). They said it had to be paper copies, I called the cops and the cops told me to let them have the car, after writing down their info.

Next morning, I find that a "banking error" had led to my payments going toward a different account. I never once received a phone call or letter letting me know anything - my first notice was two thieves in a truck. I had to miss work the following day and get a ride 45 miles out in the country to get my car back, I received not so much as an apology. The worst thing about it were my neighbors outside with me in the middle of the night offering to give me money and me trying to assure them I'd done nothing wrong.

Yea - you come across like the person I can see stealing cars out of people's driveways in the middle of the night and shaking them down when they confront you. GFY.
