US Gov spend per year is $4.3Trillion currently. So the '1% owning more than..' doesn't factor in the flow of money and taxes.

Then you put your own internal biases on the statements I made. One point is there's more to look at in the health of an economy than just employment numbers, of those I outlined above. Furthermore lets not forget what I said about infrastructure, wealth inequality, the social safety net, etc etc.

To wrap this back to the post. I think twitter guy is being disingenuous. There are very pressing issues we need to address as a country but due to the outsized influence the rich and businesses have we're not addressing them. So the problem isn't so much the spending, its what direction the US gov't is taking. I'm not saying we can spend with total disregard, but our priorities do need to change drastically.
