At least you or the OP of the copypasta are acknowledging people’s actions for what they are. For my part, at every overflowing trailhead I passed by yesterday while on my solitary bike ride, I saw multi-car groups setting up or packing up. In other words, they are just bringing their usual habits to the few venues left for them. How much safer these habits are in an outdoor setting than seated around a table as a party of 12 at a restaurant may be game for speculation, but I have my doubts that it’s a whole lot different.
Where I disagree is with the characterization that these posts aren’t coming from people who felt entitled to an empty park all to themselves. In many cases they just happened to be driving by or did the responsible thing and changed their plans rather than further contributing to overcrowding.
This all reminds me of my kid (and probably most kids) when she was 12. If you grounded her and took away her electronics, she’d find some other way, no matter how inane, to have fun. The idea that we’re doing all of this in response to a major public health emergency seems lost on many.
