First mistake; the night before, I had gone to a party with some girl I hardly knew from work at Best Buy. The party was in a neighboring county for a different school and was pretty enjoyable until some people were asked to leave for starting drama. Several of us herded them to the street where a gun was pulled and shots fired (up in the air) and they drove off immediately after so it wasn’t TOO ridiculous. It was adrenaline inducing, nonetheless and we ended up piling into a car with more strangers and peeling out from the fiasco. Regroup at another location with them and the drinking continues. To this I’m no stranger, but it was my first time with people doing flaming shots of Everclear. I spilled mine across my cheek and down my neck. The nearby sink had one of those hose sprayers and was ideal to extinguish my face. It was a pretty short lived fire, but definitely 2nd degree burns. Didn’t get the best quality sleep that night, and was pretty late getting back to my side of town. Fortunately I was able to get a ride with a good buddy although we were pretty late. I remember he took a tollbooth faster than I’ve even been through one in my life. Like 70 mph through a narrow ass toll booth. He damned sure got us there though. Made it through the ceremony with red scorched face and all. It seems like I’m trying to put a lighthearted spin on repulsive behavior. If you absolutely love to drink to excess, seriously consider not drinking kiddos. Your life will be much better without it.
