Grand Teton Lodge Company

Imo, they're one of the best places to do a seasonal, especially your first one ever. Here is why.

First, the town of Jackson is a lively tourist town with all the amenities you'd expect. It's practically a small city in the summer. That means you've never too far away from the typical stuff you're used to. Jackson Lake Lodge is a ~40m drive into Jackson (and it is quite beautiful to boot going from the Lodge into town especially). This is unlike Yellowstone, Glacier, or many other places that don't have a bonafide large town right near it. It can break up the "only outdoors stuff to do" rut of remote-place work.

Second, the employees there are very active with getting people social and doing community/employee activities. They even have a big party mid-year.

Third, the Tetons means you also have yellowstone and just an enormous amount of land to have fun on. It's paradise for outdoors-loving people. I especially like GTLC because you get a beautiful lake (at Colter Bay, 10m drive from the Lodge) to enjoy on hot days. The Teton's seriously just have everything. From that perspective it might beat anywhere else you can work except maybe Alaska.

Fourth, they just bumped minimum pay to $16.50 an hour. Last summer it was $13.50. Pretty big bump. You should walk away with over $10k cash if you don't spend a dime (you will but even if you only spend half that's FIVE GRAND). It's actually lowkey kind of lucrative employment now, which is far cry from the days of getting $8.50 an hour lol. Btw they like just posted listings for the summer so get to applying! Also, they once again have free housing next summer (which saves like $250 a month).

Fifth, they're a VAIL company so you can transition into a winter seasonal if you like skiiing / want to. It's not required or anything but just an option. They now pay those blokes $20/hr I believe (although housing is harder for winter).

Sixth, the Teton area is extremely wealthy so idk if that's good or bad for tips for servers.

P.S. I highly recommend driving your own car. It's infinitely better. Ditto for staying at the Jackson Lake Lodge rather than their Colter Bay et. al. Frankly, Colter Bay is kind of a hippie/burnout haven and the other properties are very small. JLL is fantastic though (and the most modern/upkept).
