Great apes of Reddit, what makes us not so great?

initially our ancient ancestors were an ill equipped evolutionary dead end. instead of dying for lack of hair, we killed other animals for theirs. we appropriated ways of surviving that exceeded our physical capabilities in a way no other species had before done. instead of fur and sharp claws, we had begun growing new brain regions. sharper delineations of said regions and the ability to plan for the deep future. the ability to terraform on a scale that is absolutely unprecedented even among the insect kingdom. the odd capability to generate what we call art or music. precision engineering. precision high speed computing. interstellar travel. deep mind simulations. full immersion. we are ready, as a species to meet and control any eternity we desire yet we still struggle to feed and clothe those that are in need, we still struggle with the idea of whether or not child marriage is acceptable. we still struggle with food waste and pollution. we have more delineations and more brain regions to still develop if we desire to survive as human - self reflective beings. we will, however, inevitably survive as something.
