Great comeback by fans

When the trailers came out, most hate was for leslie Jones. This isn't because of racism.

If you think that there wasn't a seed of racism to a lot of the hateful trolling around Ghostbusters (which I always thought looked terrible), I think you're being naïve.

It was because all her character did in the trailers was make stupid, obnoxioud, loud noises while the others actually did stuff.

Maybe you should rewatch the trailer as I just did, because this claim is pretty off-base. It seems you're remembering this with a hint of a bias.

Your own desire to find racism anywhere you could ensured that you had no idea of the actual reasons behind anything and that you ignored any further changes in perception of her character.

I'm amused at this version of me that you've constructed in your head because I said something you didn't like, but again, you're mistaken. I'm just an observant guy who happens to work in the industry. I didn't follow the aftermath of the release because the movie was shitcanned by critics and audiences and I had no interest in it from the beginning, but I saw all I needed to see in the vile reactions of the online trolling community after a fairly boring, lame trailer for a misguided reboot of a beloved franchise.
