Is greying/receding hair less of an issue now?

Because it is now common to shave your head. Back in the day you could name the handful of bald guys: Kojak, Yul Brenner, Isaac Hayes...um...I'm sure there were more but you get the idea.

Mid 90s I saw Bruce Willis and the Detroit Pistons started growing goatees and shaving their heads and made it look cool. I recall going out around then and feeling extremely self conscious because no one else in this big small town wore that look. In fact, I can still clearly remember the first time I saw someone else with the shaved head/goatee.
I don't claim to be at all fashionable but I was an early adopter of that because it was such a reasonable functional solution to having a weird balding pattern. Goatees/weird facial hair have become somewhat questionable but no one bats an eye at a shaved head anymore and for that I am grateful to have been in the right place at the right time.
