Grip/Production Assistant Training/Workshops near Greater NYC Area

Wow, thanks for the super long and thoughtful answer. I will definitely do all I can to insert myself in the different departments wherever appropriate. Ironically, despite my post, one of my goals is to not become pigeonholed into any one discipline, since I’m kind of interested in them all, and I easily get bored doing just one thing too much. This is sort of why I envision Producer as my long term position.

At the same time, I have this idea of film as an industry crowded with dreamers rather than people merely interested in what they’re doing. And we can’t all make it - this is where my hyper competitive approach comes in. I know it’s kind of an off putting attitude and I certainly might come off as a “try hard” on set (I’m wondering if this might actually be detrimental to my effort after all). But I’m an industry as cut throat as this, I fail to see which other attitude to adopt.
